Eligibility
This examination is an internal Efficiency Bar Examination. Only officers currently serving in the post of Customs Guard Grade III of the Sri Lanka Customs Department are eligible to apply.
Please Note: This is not an open recruitment examination for members of the general public.
Examination Subjects
01. Establishments Code and Office Procedures
Duration: One hour
02. Financial Regulations and Accounting Procedures
Duration: One hour
Marks and Pass Requirements
- Each examination paper carries a maximum of 100 marks.
- Applicants must obtain at least 40 marks in each subject to pass.
- Candidates may pass both subjects at one sitting or pass them at separate sittings.
Examination Medium
Candidates may sit for the examination in any one of the following languages:
Sinhala Tamil English
The selected examination medium cannot be changed after submitting the application.

How to Apply Online
- Visit the Department of Examinations online application portal.
- Select the Customs Guard Grade III Efficiency Bar Examination – 2020 (2026).
- Log in using your correct National Identity Card number.
- Complete the online application in English only.
- Enter an active mobile number and email address to receive OTP, SMS and application updates.
- Check all entered information carefully before submitting the application.
- Pay the applicable examination fee, where required.
- Complete the submission and download the application.
- Print the application and complete the required sections in handwriting.
- Obtain the applicant’s signature certification and the relevant Head of Department’s countersignature.
- Submit the printed application through the respective Head of Division to the Human Resources Directorate on or before 24 August 2026.
Important: Merely saving the application does not complete the submission. Applicants must finish all required submission and payment steps before the closing time. Incomplete or late applications may be rejected.

Candidates must produce one of the following valid identity documents at the examination centre:
- National Identity Card
- Valid passport
- Valid Sri Lankan driving licence
