Applicants were required to possess a relevant four-year Honours Degree from a foreign or state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a university established by an Act of Parliament in Sri Lanka, or a qualification recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978.
