Sampath Bank PLC is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced legal professional to join the Bank as a Legal Officer. The selected candidate will support the Bank's legal, recovery and regulatory activities while working closely with internal departments and external legal counsel.

Requirements
- Attorney-at-Law duly qualified to practise in Sri Lanka.
- Minimum of five (05) years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
- Proven experience in litigation and recovery-related legal work, particularly involving banking matters.
- Tamil-speaking jurisdiction experience and fluency in the Tamil language are mandatory.
- Possession of a valid Notarial Licence to practise in English and Tamil will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings and other legal documentation relating to past-due and recovery matters and initiate legal proceedings where required.
- Appear before original and appellate courts on behalf of the Bank.
- The ability to conduct trials and inquiries will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Provide legal advice on matters relating to banking operations and recovery activities.
- Coordinate effectively with external legal counsel and internal departments regarding ongoing legal matters.

- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple legal matters.
