Eligibility Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least one of the qualifications specified in the official examination notice. These include qualifications such as:

  • Passing the Araneri School Final Certificate Examination.
  • Possession of the relevant Pandithar qualification.
  • Possession of the Saiva Pulavar qualification.
  • Passing G.C.E. Advanced Level with Hinduism or Hindu Civilization as a subject.
  • Candidates qualifying under the other educational requirements specified under Section 4 of the official notice may also apply.

Important: Eligibility should be certified by the Head / Principal of the relevant Araneri School.

How to Apply for Hindu Dharmacharya Examination 2026

Candidates are required to apply through the relevant Araneri / Hindu Religious School. The official notice states that candidates are not normally permitted to apply directly as external candidates.

Eligible candidates should contact the nearest relevant religious school and complete the prescribed application form according to the instructions.

Examination Structure

The Hindu Dharmacharya examination consists of five examination papers. Each paper carries a maximum of 100 marks.

70 – 100 Distinction

Candidates should produce an acceptable identity document at the examination centre. The official notice lists:
