Who Can Apply?
- Eligible students attached to registered Araneri Schools may apply through their respective schools.
- External candidates cannot apply directly to the Department of Examinations.
- External candidates must apply through the nearest Araneri School to their place of residence.
- The Head of the Araneri School must verify that every applicant satisfies the eligibility requirements in the official Gazette notification dated 24 July 2026.
External Applicants An Araneri School may accept an external applicant after confirming the applicant’s eligibility and collecting the prescribed examination fee.

The relevant fee must be confirmed using the official application instructions according to the applicant’s category and number of subjects.
How to Pay the Examination Fee
- The school must collect the applicable fees from all candidates.
- The total amount must be paid at any post office in Sri Lanka.
- Payment must be made under Revenue Head Number 20-03-02-13 of the Commissioner General of Examinations.
- The original receipt must be attached to the application.
- Keep a photocopy of the payment receipt for future reference.
- Payments by stamps or money orders are not accepted.
How to Apply
- Download the English or Tamil application form using the links provided below.
- Read all instructions carefully before completing the application.
- Applications must be completed in duplicate.
- Enter the six-digit School Number or SCH Number allocated to the Araneri School.
- Enter each candidate’s full name in English block capital letters.
- Enter the NIC number, valid passport number or valid driving licence number.
- Select the examination centre and enter the relevant town number.
- Enter the relevant subject numbers and examination fee details.
- Obtain each candidate’s signature after checking all entered information.
- The Head of the Araneri School must sign the application and place the official school stamp.
- Send the original application by registered post before the closing date.
- Keep the duplicate copy at the Araneri School.
