Applications must be submitted according to the instructions given in the official Gazette before the closing date.
The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has issued the Gazette notification for the Buddhist Dharmacharya Certificate Examination 2026. According to the official notice, the examination is scheduled to be conducted in November 2026.
The examination will be conducted in Sinhala and English. Applicants can select only one language medium when submitting the application.
Applicants must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:
Applications and instructions are available through the relevant Dhamma Schools and the Department of Examinations.
Eligible applicants who meet the required qualifications may apply through a Dhamma School near their residence, according to the instructions provided in the official Gazette.
Completed applications should be submitted through the relevant procedure before the closing date.
Examination Fee: Rs. 200
First-Time Dhamma School Candidates: Exempt from the examination fee.
The fee for completing a deficient pass subject is Rs. 50.
