Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Audit Officer – Grade II of Class III
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Audit Officer, Grade II of Class III in the Field / Office-Based Service Category of the Sri Lanka State Audit Service – 2026.
According to the Government Gazette dated 11 September 2026, the recruitment examination has been announced for 244 Audit Officer vacancies. Salary Scale
The initial salary step is Rs. 64,610. Salary payments are subject to the provisions of the relevant Public Administration Circular, and other government-approved allowances applicable to the post may also be paid.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
Applicants must possess at least one of the qualifications specified under the relevant qualification category in the Gazette.
Route 01 – Accounting / Auditing / Commerce / Management
Applicants may qualify under this category by possessing one of the following:
- A degree from a university or degree-awarding institution recognized by the University Grants Commission with Accounting or Auditing as a main subject, relating to Accountancy, Commerce, Business Management or Public Management;
- The relevant qualification level or a higher examination specified in the Gazette from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka;
- Management Level or above of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka;
- Relevant Higher Diploma / Higher National Diploma qualification in Accountancy, Commerce or Management from the institutions specified in the Gazette.
Route 02 – Valuation / IT / Computing
A degree awarded by a UGC-recognized university or recognized degree-awarding institution in one of the following fields:
- Valuation
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Technology
Age Limit
For general applicants, the Gazette states that eligible applicants should have been born on or before 12 October 2004 and on or after 12 October 1998.
Other Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Applicant must be of good character.
- Applicant must satisfy the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of the post.
- Selected officers may be required to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- All required qualifications must have been completed by the application closing date.
