The Ministry of Public Administration has officially announced that 150 new officers will be recruited to the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) through an Open Competitive Examination. The official Gazette notification and online application have not yet been released. Applications are expected to be invited soon.

Public Administration Minister Chandana Abeyratne stated that the competitive examination will be conducted as soon as possible. Recruitment will be carried out according to the examination results, and successful candidates will be appointed as Assistant Secretaries in Government institutions.
The Minister also explained that there are currently a considerable number of vacancies in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service and that this recruitment programme is expected to strengthen the country's public administration sector.
