Accommodation Bungalow Assistant
Number of vacancies: 20
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must have passed at least six subjects, including a minimum of two credit passes, at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings.
Additional advantages: Qualifications and experience in professional cookery, housekeeping, food and beverage services, hotel services, hospital services, office cleaning, maintenance or related fields will be considered additional qualifications.
Professional Qualifications
Professional qualifications in any of the following areas will receive additional consideration:
- Professional Cookery
- Housekeeping Services
- Food and Beverage Services
- Hotel or restaurant services
- Cleaning and maintenance services
- Other qualifications relevant to the post
An NVQ Level 3, NVQ Level 4 or higher qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission may receive additional marks during the selection process.
Age Limit
Applicants must be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age as of the closing date of applications.
Salary Scale
SALARY CODE – PL 1-2025
Rs. 40,000 – Rs. 61,880
Monthly salary scale
Salary scale: Rs. 40,000 – 10×450 – 10×490 – 10×540 – 12×590 – Rs. 61,880. The Gazette states that the full salary entitlement under this scale applies from 1 January 2027, subject to the relevant salary circular provisions.
Service Conditions
- The appointment is permanent and pensionable, subject to government policy decisions.
- Selected applicants may be required to work at railway accommodation bungalows located anywhere in Sri Lanka.
- Selected candidates will be subject to a three-year probation period.
- Candidates must possess sufficient physical and mental fitness to perform the duties of the post.
- Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens and possess good character.
Selection Method
Qualified applicants will be called for a structured suitability evaluation interview. Candidates will be selected according to the highest marks obtained and the number of available vacancies.
