Applicants must be 16 years of age or above on the closing date of applications and satisfy one of the following requirements:
- Passed six (06) subjects including Mathematics and First Language with at least two Credit Passes at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings.
- Successfully completed any Certificate Programme with 30 credits at Level 01 or above conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka.
- Obtained a qualification at NVQF Level 3 or above accepted by the OUSL Senate.
- Possess any equivalent or higher qualification accepted by the Senate.
