SLITHM National Tourist Guide Programme 2026 – Apply Online

The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM) has officially invited applications for the National Tourist Guide Programme 2026. This tourism training programme is specially designed for candidates who wish to build a professional career in Sri Lanka’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Entry Qualifications

• Applicants should be Sri Lankan citizens.
• Age should be between 18 – 65 years.
• Passed G.C.E A/L Examination in one sitting within two attempts.
• OR possess a recognized university degree.
• OR possess 05 years experience as a Licensed Chauffeur Tourist Guide.
• OR completed a Tour Guiding Programme at NVQ Level 04.
• OR possess 08 years experience as a Licensed Area Tourist Guide.

Language Requirements

Priority will be given for applicants with foreign language skills such as: French, German, Korean, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, Japanese, and Greek.

Applicants applying for English tourist guide training should have passed English in G.C.E O/L with a Credit pass.

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on interviews and language competency tests.
• Additional Rs. 5,000 fee will be charged for language tests.
• Selected applicants will receive confirmation through email.
• Canvassing will result in disqualification.
