Homoeopathy Medical Degree Scholarship 2026/2027
Applications are invited by the Indigenous Medicine Section of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Sri Lanka from suitably qualified candidates for the award of scholarships to follow the Homoeopathy Medical Degree Course for the academic year 2026/2027.
Under this scholarship programme, 10 Sri Lankan students are expected to be selected to undertake their medical degree studies at the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH) in Kolkata, India, with sponsorship from the Government of India.
The programme has a duration of approximately 5½ years. According to the published notice, students who successfully complete the programme may practise as qualified Homoeopathy Medical Practitioners after fulfilling the relevant registration requirements of the Homoeopathy Medical Council.
✅ Required Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following educational and age requirements:
Applicants should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the Science stream in one sitting at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Applicants should have obtained a pass in General English at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Applicants should have obtained at least a Credit Pass for English Language at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
Candidates should be between 18 and 25 years of age as at 25.09.2026.

🎯 Method of Selection
Selection will be made according to merit after candidates' qualifications have been verified by an Interview Board.
According to the notice, candidates who possess the highest qualifications among the applicants will be called for the interview. The decision of the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media regarding the selection will be final.
The Ministry states that it will arrange only a one-way air ticket for departure for the selected applicants.
