The North Western Provincial Public Service Commission has called applications for the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the post of Cooperative Development Officer Grade III – 2026 under the Department of Cooperative Development.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Passed G.C.E. O/L with six subjects at one sitting, including credits in Sinhala/Tamil/English, Mathematics and two other subjects.
• Passed all subjects at G.C.E. A/L at one sitting, excluding the General Common Test, including at least one subject such as Economics, Biology, Agriculture, Combined Mathematics, Accounting, Business Statistics or Business Studies.

Professional Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the professional qualifications specified in the official notice, including:

• Diploma in Advanced Accounting or Auditing Management from the National Institute of Cooperative Development.
• Final Stage qualification of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or an equivalent qualification.
• Diploma in Accounting or Management from a recognized university.
• Higher National Diploma in Accounting from the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE).
• Degree in Management, Accounting or Commerce from a UGC-approved university.

Other Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• The applicant must have an excellent character.
• The applicant must be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere within the North Western Province.
• The applicant must have been a permanent resident of the North Western Province for at least the previous three years as at the closing date.
• The age must be between 18 and 30 years as at the closing date.

Salary

Written Examination

The Intelligence Test consists of 50 questions designed to assess logical thinking, analytical ability and decision-making skills. The General Knowledge paper covers national and international socio-economic and political knowledge, together with knowledge of cooperative philosophy and business.
